This role will focus on advanced storage and backup operations, with a strong emphasis on Cyber Sense configuration, security analysis, and recovery testing within the Data Domain Vault-as-a-Service environment.
As a Storage/Backup Administrator, your day will be dynamic and involve a mix of proactive maintenance, reactive troubleshooting, and strategic planning. You'll start by reviewing system performance reports and addressing any alerts or warnings. This includes monitoring the health of SAN and NAS systems, ensuring data replication is functioning correctly, and validating the integrity of recent backups. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to Cyber Sense operations, where you'll evaluate security items identified by the system, track daily analyses, and escalate incomplete replications. You'll also collaborate with cross-functional teams to support storage allocation planning and data restoration requests. Handling high-priority incidents, conducting root cause analyses, and implementing process improvements will be crucial aspects of your daily responsibilities.
