BASIC PURPOSE
To provide a safe and reliable fleet by performing preventative maintenance and proper repairs on all fleet equipment.

Schedule: Sunday–Thursday, 9:00 p.m. – 5:30 a.m.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete all required repairs on diesel reefer equipment (THERMO KING & CARRIER TRAILER REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS, Reefer Microprocessors, etc.). 

  • Perform preventative maintenance within manufacturer standards.

  • Mentor other maintenance shop personnel.

  • Receive road calls, assign third party vendor, and work with business partners on plan of action.

  • Utilize fleet maintenance software system tablet to fully document equipment repair and parts used.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations and government guidelines.

  • Willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certifications.

  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

SUPERVISION:

  • N/A

RELATIONSHIPS

  • Internal: All Fleet Technicians, Drivers, Coordinators and Manager.

  • External: Dealer Service Managers.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Onsite: The associate in this role is expected to perform assigned responsibilities inside a US Foods maintenance facility.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a Fleet Reefer/Refrigeration technician. TK/Carrier Refrigeration Certifications.

  • Must be willing to travel and attend training provided by US Foods.

  • Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to reefer equipment repairs. 

  • Successfully demonstrated independent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Must furnish own personal hand tools.

  • Ability to read and understand technical and online service manuals. 

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

CERTIFICATIONS/TRAINING

  • EPA 608 (Type 2 or Universal) & EPA 609 Certifications

LICENSES

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to comply with EPA and OSHA & DOT regulations as pertaining to the shop and fleet. 

  • Computer and software experience/ Noregon Diag Equip/A/C Recovery, Etc.

  • Able to repair and overhaul warehouse equipment.

  • Welding ability

  • Valid Class A CDL license and DOT certification

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is $35.66

As applicable, this role will also receive overtime compensation and shift differential .
