Role Overview

As a Senior Applied AI Engineer at Vanta, you will play a crucial role in shaping Vanta’s AI offerings, setting technical strategy, and leading projects that leverage AI to deliver smarter, faster outcomes for our customers. You’ll be part of the core AI team, working alongside a multidisciplinary group of product engineers, machine learning engineers, product managers, designers, and security and compliance experts to implement, scale, and maintain AI-enabled product experiences. In this role, you’ll build products that enable Vanta’s customers to leverage AI to accelerate their journey towards compliance, managing risk, and earning trust.

A Day in the Life

As a Senior AI Software Engineer, your day will involve a blend of coding, collaboration, and strategic thinking. You'll start by reviewing the progress of ongoing AI projects, identifying any roadblocks, and offering guidance to junior engineers. You'll participate in cross-functional meetings with product managers and designers to brainstorm new AI-powered features, ensuring they align with customer needs and business goals. A significant portion of your day will be dedicated to hands-on coding, implementing and testing AI models, integrating them into Vanta's existing systems, and fine-tuning performance. You'll also spend time evaluating the effectiveness of existing AI systems, identifying areas for improvement, and developing new eval sets. You’ll collaborate with the AI Platform team to improve the underlying infrastructure and tooling. Regularly, you'll mentor other engineers, sharing your knowledge and experience to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
