Job Description

Senior People Programs Specialist at Vanta

At Vanta, our mission is to help businesses earn and prove trust. We believe that security should be monitored and verified continuously, and we empower companies to practice better security and prove it with ease. Vanta has a kind and talented team, and while some have prior security experience, many have been successful at Vanta without it.

Role Overview

As a Senior People Programs Specialist at Vanta, you will execute and scale core people programs across performance, feedback, career growth, and talent planning to help Vanta’ns drive impact and enable leaders to make data-informed decisions. This role sits on one of Vanta’s newest teams within the People org and plays a key role in building and running talent management programs at scale.

The People Programs team builds and operates Vanta’s company-wide talent management systems that support high performance, career growth, and retention. We create clear, consistent frameworks for performance, continuous feedback, recognition, career progression, and succession planning, and provide leaders with meaningful visibility into talent. We use data and emerging AI tools to improve consistency and support better people decisions across the company.

A Day in the Life

Imagine starting your day by reviewing the progress of the current performance cycle. You check dashboards to identify any potential bottlenecks or areas where managers may need additional support. You then draft a communication to remind managers about upcoming deadlines and provide helpful tips for conducting effective performance reviews.

Next, you dive into analyzing the results of the recent engagement survey. You identify key themes and trends, and you create a report for People Business Partners highlighting areas where specific departments may need to focus their efforts. You then meet with a People Business Partner to discuss action planning strategies and brainstorm potential solutions.

In the afternoon, you work on integrating the new career framework into Vanta's HRIS system. You ensure that the framework is easily accessible to employees and managers and that it aligns with the company's overall talent strategy. You also collaborate with the People Enablement team to develop training materials that will help employees understand and utilize the framework effectively.

Finally, you spend some time exploring new AI-enabled tools that could potentially improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Vanta's people programs. You research different options, evaluate their capabilities, and make recommendations to the team.
