Staff Engineer, Third Party Risk Management - Trust at Vanta

As a Staff Software Engineer, you'll drive key strategic initiatives across engineering, deliver significant value to our customers and business, and champion engineering excellence and culture. In this role on the Trust team, you'll work on high-impact initiatives in rapidly growing areas of the business, making a major difference for our largest customers.

Role Overview

As a Staff Engineer, you'll lead large-scale, multi-team initiatives from end to end. This includes defining technical direction and architecture, collaborating with leadership across Engineering, Product, and Design, and mobilizing multiple teams of engineers to deliver complex features. You must lead with influence, mentor engineers at all levels, proactively unblock others, influence organizations to improve code quality or uplevel your team, and ship features. This position requires deep technical expertise, leadership skills, and a strategic mindset.

A Day in the Life

  • Start your day by reviewing project progress and addressing any immediate roadblocks for your team.
  • Collaborate with product managers and designers to refine product requirements and ensure technical feasibility.
