Vanta is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Software Engineer to join our growing Privacy & Data Security team in London. In this role, you will be a key contributor to our mission of helping businesses earn and prove trust by developing and scaling privacy features that enhance the value of Vanta for its customers. You will be responsible for identifying key strategic technical initiatives, delivering significant value to our customers and business, and setting the tone for engineering excellence and culture. As an early engineering hire in our London office, you'll play a critical role in expanding our engineering presence in Europe.

Day in the Life

As a Staff Software Engineer, your day-to-day activities will involve:

• Identifying, scoping, and leading large technical projects related to privacy and data security.
• Designing, developing, and owning new product functionality and infrastructure using modern frameworks like TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
• Collaborating with product management and product design to define and implement privacy features.
• Making effective tradeoffs between business priorities, user experience, and technical sustainability.
• Assisting in interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new engineering teammates in the United Kingdom and/or Ireland.
• Acting as a cultural beacon, setting an example for effective, collaborative engineering and mentoring junior team members.
