Job Description

Visa’s Technology Organization is a community of problem solvers and innovators reshaping the future of commerce.   We operate the world’s most sophisticated processing networks capable of handling more than 65k secure transactions a second across 80M merchants, 15k Financial Institutions, and billions of everyday people.   While working with us you’ll get to work on complex distributed systems and solve massive scale problems centered on new payment flows, business and data solutions, cyber security, and B2C platforms.     

The Opportunity: 

As a Java Full Stack Software Engineer, you will be placed in one of our cutting-edge technology organizations, working on innovative projects that combine robust backend development with dynamic UI solutions. Specific assignments will depend on your skill set, interests, and team needs..   

The Work itself: 

• Design, develop, and maintain optimized, secure, and scalable Java/J2EE applications following industry best practices such as unit testing, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Build responsive and interactive UI solutions using modern front-end technologies.
• Integrate AI/ML capabilities and Generative AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, OpenAI APIs, Azure OpenAI Service) into applications to enhance product features and developer productivity.
• Formulate creative solutions to solve problems that align with both the product roadmap and the technology roadmap.
• Work in an Agile environment, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, QA, DevOps, and Data Science.
• Participate in end-to-end development cycles—from requirement gathering to deployment and post-release support.
• Document designs, processes, and technical specifications for future reference.

The Skills You Bring:

• Strong proficiency in Java/J2EE and related frameworks (Spring Boot, Hibernate, etc.).
• Experience in UI development using JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue.js).
• Hands-on experience using Generative AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Copilot X, or similar assistants for code generation, debugging, and productivity enhancement.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, Microservices architecture, and Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience with automation tools (Selenium, REST Assured, Groovy, Python scripts, Cypress).
• Solid understanding of software engineering concepts and design patterns.
• Ability to perform root cause analysis and track defect resolution.
• Strong communication skills—clear, concise, and professional in both written and verbal formats.
• Proven problem-solving abilities and adaptability in ambiguous situations.
• Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
