Job Description

We are looking for Versatile, curious, and energetic Software Engineers who embrace solving complex challenges on a global scale. As a Visa Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of a multi-functional development team inventing, designing, building, and testing software products that reach a truly global customer base. While building components of powerful payment technology, you will get to see your efforts shaping the digital future of monetary transactions.   

Visa Pay (pay by wallet) is a core product pillar of Visa's non-card response. It is a unified (API) suite empowering wallets to offer seamless, tokenized transactions globally on visa merchants. It will allow digital wallets and A2A networks to access Visa acceptance points using Tap, Scan & Click channels. Pay By Wallet includes select issuer processing, TR, & TSP from Pismo as part of the API suite.

What you'll do:

• Development and maintenance of projects in Golang language with deployment on AWS.
• Proactively contributes to the betterment of other engineers in the company, through sponsoring, mentoring, and providing constructive feedback.
• Consistently leads the squad to good outcomes from a technical perspective, ensuring appropriate engineering decisions are made to factor in technical debt, systems design, stability/reliability, monitoring/observability, and business need.
• Execution of Terraform to create/remove new resources on AWS.
• Monitoring applications through logs/metrics
• Participation in technical analysis with product team requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.
• 3+ years proficiency in years of experience with Golang
• 2+ years experience in with any cloud platform (AWS/GCP/Azure)
• 2+ years experience with Infra as a code tools (Terraform, Ansible, AWS Cloud Formation, etc).
• Knowledge in Java is a differential
• Work with critical systems is a differential

• Product Awareness & Planning: Demonstrates strong product understanding, contributes meaningfully to quarterly planning, and collaborates with PMs or team leads to shape squad vision.
• Mentorship & Feedback: Proactively supports the growth of other engineers through mentoring, sponsorship, and constructive feedback.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: Frequently consulted by engineers from other squads, demonstrating the ability to tackle complex and ambiguous problems under pressure.
• Technology Strategy: Keeps up with emerging technology trends and contributes insights to squad-level strategic discussions.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
