As a Fortune 500 leader, Cardinal Health prioritizes innovation, safety, and employee well-being, making it an ideal employer for warehouse professionals seeking stability and growth in the healthcare sector.
The Warehouse Associate (2nd Shift) position at Cardinal Health's Baltimore facility offers a dynamic entry into healthcare logistics. Working Monday-Friday from 3:00pm to 11:30pm, you'll support outbound operations by processing orders with precision and efficiency. This full-time role pays $20.95 per hour (including shift differential) and requires overtime based on business needs. In this role, you'll follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure seamless order fulfillment. Core duties include accurately picking large case items using material handling equipment or small units placed on carts, performing quality control checks, sorting and consolidating freight, building and wrapping pallets, packing, loading, and preparing shipments. You'll utilize the Warehouse Management System (WMS) for check-ins and product dispatch, drive equipment like order pickers, forklifts, reach trucks, turret trucks, pallet jacks, and walkie riders. Additional tasks involve housekeeping, inventory control, maintaining a safe workspace, participating in team meetings, and resolving routine problems while adhering to OSHA standards and company policies.
Expect to cross-train across warehouse areas, rotate duties as needed, and communicate effectively with supervisors and peers. Your ability to adapt to changing priorities in a high-volume setting will be key to success.
Candidates must frequently lift up to 50 pounds, bend, reach, stoop, and stand for entire shifts, with comfort working at heights of 20-30 feet. A High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience is preferred, along with prior experience operating powered industrial trucks (PIT). RF scanner and voice-to-pick proficiency is highly valued. You must be available for overtime with minimal notice, follow directions independently or in teams, and thrive in fast-paced conditions while meeting performance standards. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. Safety is paramount—wear required PPE like steel-toed shoes and harnesses, and commit to EHS and QRA policies.
This entry-to-mid-level role suits those applying acquired knowledge to standard tasks under moderate supervision. Routine assignments involve some problem-solving within defined SOPs, with complex issues escalated to leads.
