The Warehouse Associate, 2nd Shift position at our Boylston, MA facility is a pivotal role in our outbound operations team. Working Sunday through Thursday from 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM (until finish, with required overtime), you'll ensure timely and accurate shipment of medical supplies to healthcare providers nationwide. Pay rate is $23.26 per hour, inclusive of shift differential, offering competitive compensation in the healthcare logistics sector. This full-time role demands physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety in a fast-paced environment. As part of Cardinal Health's robust supply chain, you'll contribute to delivering essential products that save lives and support patient care.
This 2nd shift role requires flexibility for overtime with little notice, ensuring we meet customer demands. You'll work under moderate supervision, applying skills to routine tasks while resolving basic problems. Regular performance reviews by leads or supervisors ensure quality and productivity standards are met.
In this position, you'll follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to process outbound orders efficiently. Core duties include accurately picking large case items using material handling equipment or small units placed on carts, performing quality control checks, sorting and consolidating freight, building and wrapping pallets, packing, loading, and preparing shipments. You'll utilize the Warehouse Management System (WMS) for check-ins and outs, drive equipment like order pickers, forklifts, reach trucks, turret trucks, pallet jacks, and walkie riders. Additional tasks encompass housekeeping, inventory control, maintaining a clean and safe environment, participating in team meetings, and communicating concerns to management. All duties align with OSHA standards and Cardinal Health's EHS and QRA policies.
Success in this role requires physical capability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds, bend, reach, stoop, and stand for entire shifts, plus comfort working at heights of 20-30 feet. A High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience is preferred, along with prior material handling equipment (PIT) experience, RF scanner/voice picking, and aptitude for fast-paced settings. Candidates must work independently or in teams, follow directions, adapt to priority changes, and meet hourly performance standards. Strong verbal and written communication, eagerness to learn equipment operation, and rotation across warehouse areas are essential. Safety adherence is non-negotiable, including wearing steel-toed shoes and harnesses. At this level, expect to apply knowledge to standard tasks, learn new methods quickly, maintain certifications, work within SOPs, and escalate complex issues.
