Job Description

About Cardinal Health

Cardinal Health, a global leader in healthcare services, empowers pharmacies, hospitals, and healthcare providers with essential products and solutions. With a robust network of distribution centers across the United States, Cardinal Health ensures the seamless flow of medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment to those who need them most. Our Ontario, CA facility (Med Prod #4551) is a critical hub in our supply chain, handling inbound and outbound operations with precision and efficiency. As a Fortune 500 company, we prioritize innovation, safety, and employee well-being, making us a top employer in the healthcare logistics sector.

Role Overview

The Warehouse Associate II (1st Shift) position at Cardinal Health's Ontario, CA location offers a dynamic entry into healthcare distribution. Working Monday-Friday from 4:00 AM to 12:30 PM (until task completion, with potential overtime), you'll support inbound receiving or outbound shipping operations. This role is ideal for motivated individuals seeking stable, hands-on work in a fast-paced environment. Pay starts at $20.60 per hour, with comprehensive benefits from day one. No prior warehouse experience required—all training provided. Join a team dedicated to quality, safety, and productivity in medical product distribution.

Key Responsibilities

As a Warehouse Associate II, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the efficient flow of healthcare products. Daily tasks include following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for order processing: accurately picking large case items using material handling equipment or small units for carts, performing quality control checks, sorting, consolidating freight, building and wrapping pallets, packing, loading, and preparing shipments. You'll utilize the Warehouse Management System (WMS) for check-ins and outs, drive equipment like order pickers, forklifts, reach trucks, turret trucks, pallet jacks, and walkie riders. Additional duties involve housekeeping, inventory control, cross-training in multiple areas, participating in team meetings, and resolving routine problems while adhering to OSHA standards and company policies.

Daily Operations

Expect to handle a mix of manual and automated tasks, ensuring products move swiftly from receipt to shipment. Your ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently or collaboratively will be key to meeting hourly performance standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

We welcome candidates with little to no experience—full training starts day one. Essential qualifications include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, reach, stoop, and stand for entire shifts, and comfort working at heights of 20-30 feet. A High School diploma, GED, or equivalent is preferred, along with prior material handling equipment (PIT) experience, RF scanner or voice-to-pick familiarity. Must be available for overtime with little notice and thrive in a goal-oriented warehouse setting. Strong direction-following skills, team collaboration, and safety focus are crucial.

Physical & Environmental Demands

This role demands physical stamina in a fast-paced environment. Safety gear is provided, and all operations comply with rigorous OSHA regulations.
