Role Overview

The Warehouse Operations Manager - Outbound position at Cardinal Health's Kansas City facility is a strategic leadership role overseeing all outbound processing activities, including picking, packing, and shipping. Reporting to senior operations leadership, you will manage a team of 3 Outbound Supervisors and approximately 60 associates to achieve operational excellence, safety standards, and customer commitments. This full-time role requires Monday-Friday scheduling with flexibility for weekends, located at 12600 NE 40th Street, Suite 100, Kansas City, MO 64161. With an anticipated salary range of $86,400 - $123,400 (bonus eligible), this position offers substantial growth in healthcare supply chain management.

Key Responsibilities

In this critical role, you will drive the efficient flow of products from receipt to shipment, ensuring compliance and profitability. Core duties include:

  • Leading and directing a team of 3 Outbound Supervisors and 60 associates to meet distribution center standards for budget, policies, procedures, and quality.
  • Spearheading continuous improvement projects and process enhancements throughout the facility to boost efficiency and safety.
  • Providing hands-on leadership on the warehouse floor and in office settings, challenging the status quo to foster innovation.
  • Translating business and culture strategies into actionable department initiatives while influencing cross-functional teams in HR and Operations.
  • Interfacing with customers and suppliers to resolve issues, including occasional travel (a few times per year) for meetings.

Team Development and Compliance

You will own talent development by interviewing and hiring for supervisor, lead, and niche roles; conducting training, coaching, counseling, and performance appraisals; and holding supervisors accountable for their Management by Objectives (MBOs). Additionally, enforce Cardinal Health compliance with OSHA, DEA, FDA, state, and local regulations as the primary facility contact for Quality Risk Assessment (QRA). Manage site financials, including profit and loss statements and budgets, using systems to track and analyze operational metrics.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in warehouse or distribution environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
