About the Role

Wayfair is seeking an Associate Director, Software Engineering, Cloud Compute Platforms to lead platform engineering efforts for its expansive logistics network, spanning approximately 1.6 million square meters of warehouse space across the United States. This hybrid role, based in Toronto, Canada, within the Full Stack Engineering department, focuses on driving GCP adoption, owning compute infrastructure, cloud lifecycle management, and service integration platforms that power the highly variable ecosystem of large parcel e-commerce operations. The position requires in-office presence on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays to foster collaboration in building flexible, reliable, and resilient systems essential for efficient warehouse and logistics performance. Reporting into senior engineering leadership, the successful candidate will manage Cloud Platform Compute teams, ensuring seamless scalability to handle fluctuating demands in Wayfair's custom e-commerce network. Key emphasis is placed on developing infrastructure that supports real-time operations across distribution centers, optimizing for the inherent variability in parcel volumes, delivery schedules, and supply chain dynamics. Key Responsibilities

• Lead Cloud Platform Compute teams to support Wayfair's logistics network
• Drive GCP adoption across Wayfair's warehouse and operations ecosystem

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering or platform engineering
• 5+ years of experience managing engineering teams in cloud environments
• Deep expertise in GCP (Google Cloud Platform) compute infrastructure
• Proven track record in driving cloud adoption across large-scale organizations
• Experience managing cloud lifecycle and service integration platforms
• Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain operations
• Ability to lead teams in highly variable warehouse ecosystems
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
