About the Role

The Joss & Main Upholstery & Outdoor Merchandising Manager role is a hybrid position based in Wayfair's Boston office, focusing on managing high-volume furniture categories within the specialty retail brand targeting style-obsessed customers. This position oversees all merchandising aspects, including inventory planning, supply chain coordination, and warehouse optimization to support Wayfair's $60B market strategy. With responsibility for 2 direct reports, the manager acts as the category expert, ensuring seamless logistics from suppliers to fulfillment centers for upholstery and outdoor products in a 4 days/week in-office model. Key emphasis is placed on warehouse and logistics specifics, such as demand forecasting to balance stock levels across Wayfair's distribution network, collaboration with operations teams for efficient fulfillment, and strategies to minimize logistics costs in seasonal ramps. Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of Outdoor & Upholstery categories including inventory levels and warehouse allocation
• Lead demand forecasting to optimize logistics and fulfillment efficiency
• Oversee 2 direct reports in merchandising operations and supply chain coordination
• Collaborate with warehouse teams to ensure timely product availability
• Analyze sales data to adjust stock in Wayfair's distribution centers
• Drive assortment curation with focus on logistics feasibility
• Monitor supplier performance impacting delivery to warehouses
• Implement strategies to reduce logistics costs in upholstery and outdoor segments
• Coordinate with operations for seasonal inventory ramps

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in e-commerce merchandising or category management
• Experience managing inventory and supply chain for furniture categories
• Proven track record in optimizing warehouse fulfillment for high-volume categories like upholstery and outdoor
• Familiarity with logistics operations in specialty retail
• Ability to analyze demand forecasting for warehouse stocking
• Experience leading direct reports in operations-focused roles
• Strong understanding of Wayfair's supply chain ecosystem
