About the Role

Wayfair’s Advertising business is rapidly expanding, contributing hundreds of millions in profits through Sponsored Products, Display, and Video Ads tailored to advertiser goals while delivering relevant ads to millions of customers. The Advertising Optimization & Automation Science team plays a pivotal role by applying machine learning and generative AI to automate campaign workflows, offering actionable insights on budget allocation, target Return on Ad Spend (tROAS), and SKU selection to drive strong ROI for advertisers of all levels. As a Machine Learning Scientist III in Customer Technology, based in Bangalore, India, within the Data Science & Machine Learning department, you will develop advanced ML models to enhance Wayfair's ads platform. This role focuses on leveraging state-of-the-art techniques to optimize advertising performance, streamline operations, and support Wayfair's e-commerce ecosystem, including potential intersections with supply chain efficiency through better product visibility and sales forecasting. While the position emphasizes advertising technology, it indirectly supports Wayfair's warehouse and logistics operations by improving demand prediction and inventory turnover via optimized ad-driven sales, ensuring smoother fulfillment and operations at scale.

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or related field

  • Strong programming skills in Python or similar
  • Knowledge of generative AI and recommendation systems
