About the Role

The Catalog Algo Engineering team at Wayfair drives growth by tackling product data quality and catalog intelligence challenges at massive scale. They develop features like visual search, personalized recommendations, filter-driven product tagging, dimension accuracy checks, AI-generated review summaries, and product image classification. Additionally, the team automates supplier onboarding using validation tools and agentic GenAI workflows. By harnessing Generative AI, multi-modal models, and smart data pipelines, they convert merchandising strategies into precise, consistent, enriched product data, minimizing manual work and enhancing the shopping experience. This Software Engineer II role focuses on building these scalable ML systems to support Wayfair's logistics and operations in product catalog management. While primarily engineering-focused, it indirectly optimizes warehouse and fulfillment efficiency through superior data accuracy for inventory and supply chain operations. The position is based in Boston, MA, within the Full Stack Engineering department.
