About the Role

Wayfair’s Product Recommendations team, within Full Stack Engineering, develops core platforms and microservices that power personalized product discovery for customers, driving hundreds of millions in incremental revenue. The Software Engineering Manager will lead efforts to productionalize custom ML models using extensive customer and product data, building data pipelines for real-time inference and training. Services support storefront and marketing channels to enhance shopping experiences. This Boston-based hybrid role (3 days/week in office, Tues-Thursday) focuses on scalable, trusted recommendation systems critical to Wayfair's logistics and operations efficiency in product fulfillment and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Product Recommendations team in building core platforms and services
• Drive development of microservices for ML model deployment
• Build and optimize data pipelines for model training and inference
• Deliver real-time recommendations across storefront and marketing channels
• Contribute to hundreds of millions in incremental revenue through recommendations
• Manage hybrid team complying with 3 days/week in-office schedule (Tues-Thursday)
• Leverage Wayfair’s customer and product data for trusted recommendations
• Productionalize custom machine learning models

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• 2+ years of engineering management experience
• Experience with full stack development
• Proficiency in building scalable microservices
• Knowledge of machine learning model productionalization
• Ability to work hybrid schedule (3 days/week in Boston office)
• Strong understanding of data pipelines for ML inference and training
