About the Role

As an Asset Protection Specialist for Wayfair Retail Stores in Wilmette, Illinois, you will safeguard warehouse-adjacent retail operations by monitoring security systems, preventing loss, and ensuring a safe environment for associates handling logistics and inventory. In this position within the Physical Retail In-Store department, you'll patrol facilities, conduct audits on warehouse inventory flows, investigate shrinkage, and partner with cross-functional teams to mitigate risks in fast-paced retail logistics. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security systems and CCTV footage across retail and warehouse areas
• Patrol store and back-of-house logistics zones to prevent theft and ensure safety
• Respond to alarms, emergencies, and safety incidents with composure
• Conduct inventory audits and loss prevention checks on high-value assets
• Collaborate with store operations and logistics teams to resolve security concerns
• Enforce safety protocols for associates handling warehouse inventory
• Investigate and document theft or shrinkage incidents in retail operations
• Support loading/unloading processes by verifying shipments and access controls

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years of experience in asset protection, loss prevention, or security in retail or logistics environments
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a warehouse/retail setting
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Pass background check and drug screening
• Availability for flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Basic knowledge of warehouse safety protocols and emergency response

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or related field
• Experience with CCTV monitoring and alarm systems in logistics operations
• Certification in CPR/First Aid or loss prevention
