Position Summary

As a Well Intervention Engineer in Midland, TX, you’ll support ConocoPhillips’ workover and intervention programs in the prolific Permian Basin. Deliver safe, compliant, cost-effective well plans that safeguard people, the environment, and asset integrity. Collaborate with supervisors and multidisciplinary teams—including completions, production, and field execution—to drive operational success. What You Will Do

Core Engineering Responsibilities

• Design and deliver safe, efficient well intervention and workover programs compliant with company policies, standards, and regulations.
• Participate in multidisciplinary well planning to align interventions with project goals.
• Collaborate with Completions and Production teams to identify, prioritize, and schedule opportunities.

Operational Support & Execution

• Prepare detailed procedures and contingencies for workover rigs, coiled tubing, wireline, slickline, and rigless ops.
• Provide engineering support to field teams, including onsite presence for critical operations.
• Ensure accurate daily reporting via WellView and partner with superintendents for seamless execution.

Performance & Optimization

• Manage multiple projects: track costs, schedules, and performance metrics.
• Develop AFEs, review invoices, and handle government permits for compliance.
• Apply data analytics for value-based decisions; evaluate tenders, bids, and emerging technologies.
• Conduct after-action reviews, share learnings industry-wide, and mentor team members.

What We Are Looking For

Basic/Required Qualifications

• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency in well intervention design, WellView, and regulatory standards.
