In this pivotal role within the Servicing Tribe, you will provide technical leadership for AI/ML solutions balancing customer convenience, security, and compliance. Shape the future of fraud detection, identity verification via computer vision, and LLM-driven automation, driving innovation with transformers, GenAI, and agentic systems to impact millions of customers worldwide. Reporting to senior leadership, you will mentor talented data scientists, accelerate delivery through scalable MLOps, and collaborate cross-functionally to embed data science into product roadmaps. With a focus on production excellence, ethical AI, and measurable business outcomes, you'll scale our capabilities in a high-stakes fintech environment. If you have 8+ years leading DS teams in regulated industries and deep expertise in modern AI/ML, join us to build intelligent systems that power Wise's mission. Key Responsibilities

  • Drive technical vision for next-gen AI/ML including transformers, agentic AI, and computer vision
  • Lead and mentor data scientists, building technical capabilities and fostering career development
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations to integrate data science into roadmaps
  • Establish scalable MLOps, model monitoring, A/B testing, and performance tracking
  • Design data strategies and oversee large-scale model optimization
  • Define technical standards, governance, and best practices for data science projects
  • Shape research agenda, evaluate emerging AI/ML technologies, and foster innovation
  • Champion responsible AI practices, bias mitigation, and ethical development
  • Prioritize customer impact and accelerate iteration speed and delivery quality

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of leading data science teams and driving production-grade ML/AI systems at scale
  • Proven track record of building and scaling technical teams with measurable business outcomes
  • Strong technical foundation with expertise in Python, neural networks, and ML/GenAI frameworks
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and modern MLOps practices
  • Ability to architect scalable solutions and make credible technical decisions
