Join our growing Sanctions Screening team in Budapest as a FinCrime Operations Analyst (1 weekend shift per week) to protect customers and Wise by assessing sanctions alerts, ensuring compliance with regulations, and contributing to our mission of money without borders. Your role involves analyzing potential matches against sanctions lists, communicating with customers for additional information, escalating high-risk alerts, and refining our screening methodologies to reduce false positives while enhancing customer experience. With a salary of 680,000 HUF gross/monthly, this position offers a unique opportunity to grow as a Sanctions expert in a dynamic, global environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Follow operational procedures on sanctions alert handling for all alert types, including documenting the decision rationale
  • Perform analysis of potential matches against sanctions lists alerted through sanctions screening of customers and transactions
  • Communicate with customers when further information is required as part of reviewing against sanctions lists
  • Escalate alerts that may raise any potential reporting requirements
  • Provide inputs to refine automated sanctions screening risk methodology, reduce false positives, mitigate sanctions risks and improve customer experience
  • Take ownership and accountability for all cases, knowledge sharing and projects/tasks

Required Qualifications

  • Eligible to work in Hungary (no visa support)
  • Flexible with working hours including afternoons and 4 weekend shifts per month
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills
