Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Product Compliance team in India, advising Product teams on regulatory requirements
• Conduct regulatory analysis for new products/services and ensure appropriate controls before launch
• Translate complex Indian regulations into customer-oriented product solutions
• Identify key regulatory risks, collaborate with second line functions and present clearly to stakeholders
• Drive remediation of compliance gaps in products and processes
• Represent Wise with regulators, bank partners and auditors
• Embed compliance at the heart of product development cycles
• Build and improve compliant products/services for the Indian market

Required Qualifications

• Extensive experience in financial services compliance, particularly in Fintech or payments in India
• Proven track record leading compliance teams in a product-focused environment
• Deep knowledge of Indian regulatory frameworks (RBI, FEMA, PMLA etc.)
• Strong understanding of product development lifecycle in regulated industries
• Experience representing company in regulator meetings and with third parties

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience at a Fintech unicorn or global payments company
• Legal background or qualification in financial regulations
• Hands-on experience with product compliance in cross-border payments
• MBA or advanced degree in Finance/Law
