About the Role

As the India PR Lead in our new Hyderabad hub, you'll be the first member of the team, owning all communications for Wise in India. Supported by the APAC PR team, you'll elevate our story across fintech, business, and consumer media, targeting the Indian diaspora, growing businesses, banks, and policymakers focused on financial inclusion. In this individual contributor role, you'll develop integrated PR strategies, build media relationships with outlets like Economic Times and Mint, execute campaigns, manage crises, and establish processes from scratch to support our rapid growth. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive communications plans for India
  • Drive high-quality execution from press releases to crisis response
  • Build the PR function from scratch with processes and media databases
  • Cultivate strategic relationships with top-tier Indian media
  • Generate consistent media coverage for product launches and thought leadership
  • Plan and execute culturally relevant integrated campaigns
  • Handle crisis and issues management with global coordination
  • Drive performance measurement and reporting on PR impact

Required Qualifications

  • Proven PR execution experience as a senior PR professional
  • Deep India market expertise with established media relationships
  • Autonomous operator comfortable managing strategy and execution independently
  • Strong writing and media relations skills
  • Cross-cultural collaboration across time zones
  • Crisis management experience in regulated environments
  • Mission-driven growth mindset

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in additional Indian languages
