About the Role

Wise is a global technology company building the best way to move and manage the world’s money with min fees, max ease, and full speed. We’re seeking a talented Principal Product Designer to join our rapidly growing team in Austin as the first Product Designer in North America. You’ll lead multiple initiatives touching all areas of the Wise product to substantially improve the US customer experience, partnering with Analytics, Research, Product, and Design teams within a full-stack autonomous startup-like team backed by Wise’s global resources. Your mission is to drive strategy for North America surfaces, rethinking journeys and creating new ones from scratch while setting the bar for design excellence. Key Responsibilities

• Partner with Analytics and Research to understand Wise customers and their goals
• Partner with Product and Design team to drive strategy for North America surfaces
• Rethink existing journeys and create new ones from scratch
• Set a high bar for design excellence and lead by example
• Use full range of product design skills to discover, design and deliver simple crafted experiences
• Build influence across multiple squads and teams to increase customer-centricity, creativity, and design quality
• Ship work you’re proud of and own your impact
• Elevate product quality by defining what ‘good’ looks like

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as a Product Designer, championing customer-first design initiatives
• Portfolio of well-crafted, impactful work that solves real problems for real people
• Experience designing for mobile and web surfaces
• Worked with design systems to produce beautiful and functional design that scales
• Practice evidence-based design, rationalising decisions clearly and credibly

Preferred Qualifications

• Default to prototyping when presenting work, using AI tooling
• Natural collaborator, designing in the open and leveraging other functions’ expertise
• High level of design craft with autonomy and drive
