As Product Compliance Manager - Payments, you’ll join the EU Regulatory Product Compliance and Risk team, working hands-on with product managers, analysts, and engineers to launch compliant products in a dynamic fintech environment. Leveraging your EU regulatory expertise, you’ll empower teams to build risk-based solutions while ensuring full adherence to payment services regulations. Your role involves collaborating on product design, performing compliance risk assessments, advising on regulatory gaps, managing the control environment, and mitigating risks across EEA products. You’ll conduct audits, handle issue remediation, and represent Wise with regulators and banking partners, keeping compliance at the heart of product development. This position offers rapid growth in payments regulation knowledge, empowerment to solve regulatory challenges, and contribution to a mission serving millions worldwide, all within Wise’s diverse, inclusive culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Product Teams to design compliant products, processes, and controls
  • Perform pre-launch and ongoing product compliance legal and regulatory analysis and risk assessments
  • Offer advice to Product Managers on regulations, gaps, and risks
  • Identify and manage regulatory risks across EEA products
  • Oversee the control environment and evaluate residual risk exposure
  • Collaborate with Compliance to ensure awareness of latest regulations
  • Conduct audit management, challenge findings, and manage issue remediation
  • Represent Wise in meetings with Banking Partners and Central Banks

Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with Payments or Financial Services regulatory compliance
  • Knowledge of EU financial regulations, particularly those related to payment services
  • Familiarity with fintech products and services
  • Great English skills (writing and speaking)
  • Great communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • EU and/or Belgian regulatory legal experience
  • Experience in audit management and issue remediation
  • Experience representing in meetings with regulators and banking partners
