About the Role

Wise is a global technology company building the best way to move and manage the world’s money with min fees, max ease, and full speed. We’re seeking a Senior Business Development Manager for Eastern Europe to drive the growth of Wise Platform by selling our payment solutions to banks in Central and Eastern Europe. You’ll join our Business Development team, working closely with global teams in Pre-Sales, Product Management, Compliance & Legal, Implementation, and Engineering to build and close partnerships with leading banks like Unicredit and Raiffeisen. Your mission is to create and execute a strategy for regional partnership growth, maintain a strong sales pipeline, iterate on sales processes like pitches, pricing, and go-to-market efforts, and collaborate with Product teams to shape the roadmap based on prospect feedback. This hands-on role requires leading discussions, supporting pipelines, and balancing technical solutioning with commercial negotiations. Ideal candidates are analytical, customer-focused, and experienced in selling tech or API solutions to European banks, with a strong grasp of economics, regulations, and international payments. Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the Wise Platform team to build, maintain and close a strong pipeline of partnerships with banks in Central and Eastern Europe
  • Create and communicate our strategy and plan for partnership growth in the region
  • Work on projects to improve our sales processes and approaches both within the region and globally, such as helping iterate our pitches and messaging, our pricing strategies, go to market efforts - or anything else that helps drive growth
  • Collaborate closely with the Product teams to share valuable feedback (based on your conversations with prospects) to guide product roadmap and improve end customer experience

Required Qualifications

  • You’ve sold tech products, ideally API solutions, but also traditional Correspondent Services via Swift into banks or large enterprises in Europe - and can show end to end, high impact partnership delivery here
  • You’re hands on - happy to lead your own discussions as well as supporting others with their pipelines
  • You’re as comfortable helping a partner solution the best way to use Wise Platform as you are discussing commercial and legal terms
  • You’re analytical - data driven on where the team should be spending time and on scoping and sizing opportunities
  • You have a strong head for economics - being responsible for owning and supporting financial negotiations with partners
  • You are customer-focused. At Wise, they always come first, so you need to be enthusiastic about helping our customers and delivering on our mission
  • You are familiar with the regulatory landscape in Europe and understand how international payments work today

Preferred Qualifications

  • You have experience working in banking
  • You speak a second language; Romanian, Hungarian, Polish, Czech, Bulgarian, etc - beneficial
