As Senior Engineering Lead - Treasury, you will own Liquidity, Cash, and Asset Management, designing foundations for our next global leap. Lead autonomous cross-functional teams to build a high-confidence view of global cash and smart, automated asset management tooling, tackling deep engineering challenges with direct impact on client experience and Wise’s financials. You will elevate customer experience with real-time liquidity views, drive financial resilience through advanced monitoring, ensure controlled scalability with fine-grained mechanisms, and develop automated investment systems using ML forecasts for optimal cash positioning. Partner closely with Product Managers, Analysts, Data Scientists, and Treasury stakeholders to define strategy, shape roadmaps, and deliver solutions advancing our mission for everyone, everywhere. This role demands architectural depth in distributed systems, commercial intuition, and leadership to navigate trade-offs in financial cost, risk, and customer experience. Key Responsibilities

• Lead development of reliable real-time view of liquidity for multiple products
• Enable transition to intelligent dynamic customer experience model
• Design and implement advanced monitoring systems for financial resource management
• Engineer fine-grained control mechanisms to manage liquidity utilization
• Develop systems to automate investment of surplus cash with risk and regulatory adherence
• Collaborate with data scientists on ML for forecasting cash inflows and outflows
• Scale and lead teams building high-confidence global cash view and asset management tooling
• Partner with Product Managers, Analysts, Data Scientists, and stakeholders in Treasury, Finance, Pricing

Required Qualifications

• Strong background in software engineering with proven experience designing, building, and operating complex, scalable and reliable distributed and event-driven systems in production
• Comfortable working on complex and high-stakes domains like treasury, payments, or finance
• Strong sense of ownership, understanding impact on business risk, cost, and customer satisfaction
• Experience working closely with product managers and stakeholders to define requirements and prioritize work
• Demonstrable experience leading and mentoring engineering leads and engineers across diverse domains and levels
• Lead by example, inspiring high-quality, maintainable code and high engineering standards
• Excellent communicator, articulating complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading an engineering team in treasury, fintech, or other complex high-stakes domain
• Experience building and scaling event-driven systems with real-time aggregations frameworks
• Previous experience scaling both teams and systems to support rapid business growth
