About the Role

As a Senior Product Compliance and Risk Manager - FinCrime, you'll join our European Product Risk and Compliance team within the 1st Line of Defense, embedded in the Product team. This hands-on role responds to our rapid product growth and increasing regulatory pressures in Europe, enabling the launch of innovative products while ensuring full compliance with financial crime regulations. Your mission is to partner with the Wise Europe product team and Financial Crime Product team to design scalable controls, advise on regulatory interpretations, mitigate risks in new partnerships, and represent Wise with regulators and banking partners. You'll translate complex EU financial crime requirements into practical business solutions, driving product innovation without compromising safety or customer trust. Key Responsibilities

  • Support the launch of new products and services by implementing financial crime requirements in a customer-oriented way while fully adhering to regulatory requirements
  • Ensure that controls scale with the product by developing ongoing review and monitoring processes
  • Develop smart and scalable ways to support new partnerships while managing associated financial crime risks
  • Advise Product and operational teams on how to interpret financial crime regulatory requirements or improve processes to avoid regulatory breaches and/or incidents
  • Represent Wise in external meetings with Banking Partners and Regulators, articulating Wise Controls clearly and effectively

Required Qualifications

  • Min 5 years of relevant experience working in financial crime controls in a financial institution, fintech or consulting firm
  • Fluent in English
  • Familiar with EU financial crime regulation and regulatory expectations
  • Legally authorised to work in Belgium

Preferred Qualifications

  • French and/or Dutch language skills
  • Willingness to travel
