About the Role

We're expanding our LatAm presence with a new São Paulo engineering hub and seeking a Senior Software Engineer to be a foundational team member. You'll shape local culture, processes, and technical direction while developing high-impact products for Brazilian customers, focusing on KYC/KYB, PIX optimization, bank integrations, and money movement across borders. In this role, you'll design scalable solutions, conduct code reviews, integrate with local partners, automate onboarding, and collaborate with global teams to evolve our platform. As a technical leader, you'll mentor new engineers, influence strategy, and ensure compliance in the Brazilian market. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy features for Brazilian market (Business, Consumer, PIX)
• Propose scalable, reliable, compliant technical designs
• Conduct code and design reviews to elevate standards
• Implement integrations with banks, payment providers, and vendors
• Automate onboarding workflows and KYC/KYB checks
• Collaborate with global product, design, and engineering teams
• Troubleshoot complex issues and ensure system stability
• Contribute to technical strategy and roadmap for Brazil team
• Mentor engineers in the São Paulo hub

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Strong experience in designing scalable, reliable systems
• Expertise in integrations with payment systems or financial APIs
• Proven track record in code and design reviews
• Experience with compliance and regulatory requirements (KYC/KYB)
• Ability to mentor and coach junior engineers
• Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional and global teams
• Passion for building high-quality, compliant solutions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Brazilian/LatAm fintech or payments
• Knowledge of PIX, local banks, and payment providers
• Familiarity with onboarding workflows and identity verification
• Previous work in a startup or high-growth environment

Required Skills

• Proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Go, Python)
• Experience with microservices and distributed systems
• Strong knowledge of APIs, integrations, and payment systems
• Expertise in testing, CI/CD, and deployment practices
• Understanding of compliance (KYC/KYB, financial regulations)
• Ability to design scalable and performant systems
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP)
• Cross-functional collaboration and communication
