Leveraging cutting-edge machine learning, real-time transaction monitoring, and data analysis, you'll develop and enhance payment fraud detection systems. Collaborate daily with software engineers, data analysts, data scientists, and fraud investigators to build a scalable, real-time fraud prevention engine that exceeds regulatory expectations and drives real-world impact. You'll take end-to-end ownership of projects, prioritising customer pain points with a strong product mindset and data-driven decisions. Success means automating processes for scale, understanding customer challenges, and partnering across teams to create secure, user-focused solutions. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance payment fraud detection systems using cutting-edge machine learning and real-time transaction monitoring
  • Collaborate with software engineers, data analysts, data scientists, fraud investigators, and product teams to improve fraud prevention
  • Build a globally scalable payment fraud prevention and detection real-time engine
  • Utilise machine learning techniques to identify potential risks associated with customer activity
  • Foster strong partnerships between fraud investigators and product teams to leverage fraud prevention expertise
  • Raise automation levels to enable product scaling
  • Ensure systems surpass regulator and auditor requirements
  • Drive end-to-end ownership of projects to achieve team goals

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience working with Java, Spring framework, asynchronous message queues and microservices architecture
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Distributed and Concurrent Systems
  • Great communication skills (both verbal and written) and the ability to articulate complex, technical concepts to non-technical audience
  • A strong product mindset and passion for user experience, prioritising work with the customers in mind and making data-driven decisions
  • Being able to work autonomously on customer problems, taking responsibility and end-to-end ownership of your projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with Kafka, Kafka Streams or Apache Flink
  • Experience with OLAP databases or data-lakes with Kafka ingestion
  • Experience with machine learning basics (data pipelines, feature engineering, recall/precision, familiarity with machine learning systems in production)
  • Hands-on experience working with relational and non-relational databases, query optimisations, designing and evolving schemas
