You'll collaborate with product, platform engineers, and governance specialists to enhance access controls, deliver seamless security tooling, and boost Wise's overall security posture. With a focus on availability, security, and ease of use, you'll analyse complex requirements, implement simple solutions, and mentor junior engineers. Key Responsibilities

• Working closely with product and platform engineers, as well as governance specialists, to find new ways of improving our access controls
• Making access management seamless by providing reliable custom tooling and proactive, easy-to-use solutions
• Designing and building new approaches to improving the overall security posture of Wise
• Mentoring junior engineers and helping the team to grow
• Building custom solutions for managing and monitoring access to Wise’s internal applications
• Focusing on automation, programmatic implementation, and reusable design
• Analysing complex requirements and delivering simple solutions
• Iterating on services with a focus on availability, security, and ease of use

Required Qualifications

• Great communication skills and the ability to articulate complex security concepts to other audiences
• Readiness to move fast and adapt quickly to change
• Experience with a microservice architecture
• Solid Java 17 plus knowledge
• You believe in and follow best coding practices, code reviews and open feedback

Preferred Qualifications

• Security-conscious, security-literate and security-driven
• Experience in access management and security tooling
• Mentoring experience with junior engineers
