About the Role

Join the Personal Onboarding Verification team at Wise, where you'll spearhead KYC checks and identity verification to ensure customers can seamlessly start using our products. As a Senior Software Engineer II, you'll own end-to-end flows—from document collection and automated reviews using ML models and vendors, to agent tooling and data lifecycle management. Our cross-functional team of engineers and data scientists collaborates closely with Product, Analyst, and Design to deliver world-class, scalable solutions that redefine financial onboarding. In this senior role, you'll go beyond individual coding to shape engineering strategy through whiteboarding, design, and innovative problem-solving, starting with identity verification in onboarding. Embrace a product mindset, prioritise real customer needs with data, and lead by mentoring juniors while driving process improvements. Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-impact engineering contributions as a senior team member
  • Engage in whiteboarding, designing, and questioning engineering approaches
  • Build identity verification features as part of onboarding flows
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Manager, Analyst, and Designer
  • Take ownership of complex problems and drive projects end-to-end
  • Mentor junior engineers and foster knowledge sharing
  • Improve codebase, architecture, and processes proactively
  • Prioritise customer pain points using data-driven decisions
