About the Role

Join Wise Platform (Wise for Enterprise) as a Senior Software Engineer, where you'll build the infrastructure powering the world’s money movement by connecting banks, financial institutions, and enterprises to our next-generation payment solutions. Work on complex products across verticals like banks & financial institutions and online platforms, designing scalable systems, public-facing APIs, and embedded finance platforms that enable frictionless onboarding and seamless cross-border money movement. Collaborate with solutions engineers and business development to deliver innovative, partner-focused solutions at the forefront of global payments. You'll design and maintain highly scalable services using Java and Spring Boot, leverage microservices and event-driven architectures with Kafka, and ensure intuitive, enterprise-ready APIs that set industry standards. With a focus on automation, reusable design, and holistic ecosystem thinking, you'll iterate on services prioritizing availability, security, and ease of use while advocating best practices, mentoring juniors, and driving cross-team projects. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable services
• Producing public facing APIs for others to integrate with
• Collaborate with teams across Wise to deliver real impact and expand the functionality we can offer to our partners on our platform
• Working closely with other members of the team to solve complex problems
• Advocating best practices and code reviews
• Mentoring junior engineers
• Analyse complex requirements and deliver simple solutions
• Continuously iterating on services with focus on availability, security, and ease of use

Required Qualifications

• Experience in designing, building public API platforms that others integrate with
• Strong understanding of Java with experience with Spring Boot
• Experience with microservices and event driven design
• Worked with Kafka or similar messaging systems
• Knowledge of relational databases
