About the Role

Join Wise as a Software Engineer, Android on our Business Onboarding team, where you'll guide businesses through setting up Wise and resolving their first international money needs in a clear, easy, and delightful way. Our cross-functional team of engineers, data analysts, and designers builds customer-facing systems that onboard over 1.3 million users monthly. As a key Android engineer, you'll collaborate with product, design, and analytics to shape onboarding experiences, own codebase health, architecture, and technical roadmaps while working with the Android Guild to ensure performance and maintainability. We're seeking passionate Android engineers proficient in Kotlin and modern architectures like Unidirectional Data Flow, Dependency Injection, and Coroutines. You'll implement robust test strategies and prioritize user experience with strong communication skills. Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with product, design, analytics and other teams to deliver impactful experiences
• Take responsibility for the overall health and quality of the Android codebase powering Wise’s onboarding experience
• Work closely with your lead to own Wise’s Android onboarding product flows and architecture
• Help shape your team’s technical roadmap
• Work with the wider Android Guild at Wise to maintain and evolve the Android codebase and ecosystem
• Ensure application performance, responsiveness, load times, and stability
• Prioritise work with users in mind
• Introduce technical concepts to non-technical audiences

Required Qualifications

• Experience in building and deploying a native Android app
• Proficiency in building Android apps in Kotlin
• Familiarity with modern app architectures like Unidirectional Data Flow, Dependency Injection, Structured Concurrency with Kotlin Coroutines
• Ability to define and implement good test strategies, including unit tests, integration tests, UI tests, and snapshot tests
• A strong product mindset and passion for user experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Jetpack Compose
• Experience collaborating with other platforms like Web or iOS
• Experience with API design and concepts like RESTful APIs, Backend for Frontend
