Software Engineer - Treasury FX Risk

About the Role

Join Wise's Treasury FX Risk team as a Software Engineer, where you'll build mission-critical services calculating real-time FX risk from trading to meet liquidity needs. Aggregate market data from Bloomberg and Reuters, collaborate with Data Science for dynamic hedging, and provide a real-time view of Wise’s global financial positions. Trading teams depend on your reliable, scalable systems to manage FX exposure and execute trades worth tens to hundreds of millions of pounds, with a focus on automation, reusable design, and holistic ecosystem thinking. You'll drive initiatives to ensure services deliver accurate, timely data at scale: enhance exchange rates infrastructure, implement real-time data streaming for risk monitoring, process massive data volumes with fault-tolerant solutions, and deepen expertise in finance and treasury. Work closely with Operations, Analytics, Trading, and Product teams to align tech with business goals, refining services for availability, security, and user experience. With a strong product and engineering mindset, dissect complex requirements into elegant solutions that empower teams to advance Wise's mission of moving money without borders. Key Responsibilities

  • Improving the scalability and reliability of our exchange rates infrastructure
  • Designing and implementing real time data streaming flows to enable real time monitoring of metrics related to financial risks
  • Tackle challenges related to processing large data volumes, addressing performance bottlenecks, and implementing fault-tolerant solutions
  • Gain in-depth expertise in the finance and treasury domains, contributing to the management of Wise's financial infrastructure
  • Collaborate deeply with Operations, Analytics, Trading, and Product teams to align technical and business objectives
