Advanced Practice Professional – Outpatient Clinic and Nursing Home Care at WVU Medicine

Are you an Advanced Practice Professional (APP) passionate about providing comprehensive primary care? Role Overview

As a Primary Care APP, you will be responsible for providing a wide range of medical services to patients of all ages. A Day in the Life

Your day might start with seeing patients at the Wheeling East Cove Family Medicine clinic. You'll review patient histories, perform physical examinations, order necessary lab tests and imaging, and develop treatment plans. You'll spend time educating patients about their conditions and answering their questions. In the afternoon, you may travel to a local nursing home to provide care to residents, managing chronic conditions, addressing acute illnesses, and ensuring their overall well-being. You'll collaborate with nursing staff and other specialists to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes. Throughout the day, you'll document patient encounters in the Meditech EMR system and communicate with other members of the healthcare team.

  • Making diagnoses and decisions about management and treatment of patients.
