WVU Medicine is seeking a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner to join the UHC Oncology Practice in Bridgeport, WV, working in an outpatient setting. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and clinical skills and be able to work both independently and as part of a team. This is a unique opportunity to join a well-established hematology/oncology group with no call or weekend responsibilities. The position offers an excellent benefits package and a competitive salary.
As an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in Oncology at WVU Medicine, your day will be filled with providing comprehensive care to patients undergoing cancer treatment. You'll start by reviewing patient charts and preparing for scheduled appointments. Throughout the day, you'll conduct patient assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the oncology team. You'll also administer chemotherapy and other cancer treatments, closely monitoring patients for any adverse reactions. A significant part of your role involves educating patients and their families about their diagnosis, treatment options, and potential side effects. You'll provide ongoing support and counseling, helping them navigate the emotional and physical challenges of cancer treatment. You'll also collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as pharmacists, social workers, and dietitians, to ensure patients receive holistic care. Accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records is essential, as is participation in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
