WVU Medicine is seeking a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the UHC Orthopaedics practice in Bridgeport, WV. This outpatient role involves referral triage and independent clinic responsibilities, providing comprehensive orthopedic care to patients. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and clinical skills and be able to work both independently and as part of a team. Training will be provided to ensure success in this role.
As an Advanced Practice Provider in Orthopaedics, your day will be dynamic and patient-focused. You will start by reviewing patient schedules and preparing for upcoming appointments. Throughout the day, you will conduct patient assessments, including medical history reviews, physical examinations, and interpretation of diagnostic tests such as X-rays and MRIs. You will develop and implement treatment plans, perform joint injections, apply casts and splints, and prescribe medications. Patient education will be a key component of your daily activities, ensuring patients understand their conditions and treatment options. You will also collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes. Documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) will be a critical task to maintain accurate and complete patient records.

WVU Medicine offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package for Advanced Practice Providers. The salary range for this position is estimated between $100,000 and $150,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive salary, WVU Medicine provides a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, prescription drug coverage, and a health savings account (HSA) with employer contributions. Other benefits include paid time off (PTO), CME time off and allowance, a 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching, employee assistance program (EAP), life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, and professional liability insurance. A signing bonus may also be available.
