Role Overview

WVU Medicine is seeking a skilled and compassionate Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Urgent Care team at Thomas Memorial Hospital (TMH) in South Charleston, West Virginia. As an APP, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive primary and urgent care services to patients of all ages. You will be responsible for conducting patient assessments, developing treatment plans, performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and coordinating patient care with other members of the healthcare team. A Day in the Life

As an Advanced Practice Provider in our Urgent Care, your day might look like this:

  • 8:00 AM: Arrive at the clinic, review the patient schedule, and prepare for the day.
  • 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM: See a variety of patients with acute illnesses and injuries, such as colds, flu, infections, sprains, and minor cuts. Perform physical examinations, order diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans.
  • 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: Lunch break. Catch up with colleagues and recharge for the afternoon.
  • 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM: Continue seeing patients, providing medical care, and educating them on health maintenance and disease prevention. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals as needed.
