WVU Medicine is seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team at UPC - Clarksburg Primary Care. As a CMA, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive patient care under the direction and supervision of our physicians, advanced practice professionals, and registered nursing staff. Your day will be filled with diverse responsibilities, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our primary care practice. You'll start by greeting patients with a warm and welcoming smile, escorting them to the exam rooms, and preparing them for their visit. This includes obtaining initial information such as vital signs, medical history, and current medications. You'll assist physicians and other healthcare providers with examinations and procedures, providing support and ensuring patient comfort.
Throughout the day, you'll also schedule appointments, manage referrals, educate patients on follow-up expectations, and maintain quality control testing logs. Ensuring that medical equipment is in proper working condition and assisting patients with medical documentation are also key components of your role. Your attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and ability to work effectively as part of a team will be essential to your success.

The minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent, current National Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
Preferred qualifications include graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Program and one (1) year of healthcare experience.
Core duties include greeting and escorting patients, preparing exam rooms, obtaining vital signs, assisting with exams and procedures, scheduling appointments, and educating patients.
The physical requirements include medium work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly. Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and be capable of normal rotation, standing, and walking for an 8-12 hour shift.
The working environment includes working closely with others, working protracted or irregular hours, working around biohazards, working around infectious diseases, working with hands in water, and may be required to travel between facilities.
Required skills and abilities include the ability to effectively communicate with staff and patients, adapt to changing environments, use and learn software applications, organize and prioritize work, and work in both an independent and team setting.
The scheduled weekly hours are 40.
The shift is primarily day shift, with occasional evening or weekend hours as needed.
