The salary for this position is estimated to be between $32,000 and $48,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, current National Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
One year of healthcare experience is preferred but not required.
The core duties include greeting patients, preparing exam rooms, taking vital signs, assisting with exams and procedures, scheduling appointments, educating patients, maintaining quality control logs, and ensuring equipment is in proper working condition.
The physical requirements include the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly. Additionally, the ability to bend, stoop, reach, and stand/walk for an 8-12 hour shift is required.
The work environment involves working closely with others, potentially working protracted or irregular hours, working around biohazards and infectious diseases, working with hands in water, and possibly traveling between facilities.
Important skills and abilities include effective communication, adaptability, software application proficiency, organization and prioritization, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
