You must have a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a Surgical Technology Program, surgical technologist certification, and obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
One year of prior scrub experience is preferred, but not always required.
You must be capable of prolonged periods of standing and walking, ability to lift up to 40 pounds and push/pull heavy loaded carts up to 200 lbs, possess visual, hearing, and oral acuity along with manual dexterity and technical ability, and ability to wear lead for extended periods of time.
The work environment involves exposure to communicable diseases.
The ability to follow strict sterile technique, set up operating rooms with instruments and supplies, knowledge of surgical instruments, ability to anticipate surgeons needs are essential.
