This position, located on the 9SE Cardiac Stepdown unit, involves performing direct and indirect patient care activities under the supervision of a registered professional nurse. The Clinical Associate assists in providing cost-effective care by performing delegated tasks and proactively interacting with patients, families, and other customers to ensure a family-centered experience.
As a Clinical Associate, your day will be dynamic and patient-focused. You'll begin by receiving assignments from the registered nurse, understanding the specific needs and care plans for your assigned patients. Throughout your shift, you'll assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, and feeding, ensuring their comfort and dignity. You'll monitor vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure, and promptly report any changes or concerns to the nurse. You may also perform tests like glucose monitoring and specimen collection, following established protocols. Patient safety is paramount, so you'll assist in transporting patients safely to various tests and procedures, adhering to WVUH's Safe Patient Handling Policy.
