WVU Medicine is seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our Internal Medicine team at Berkeley Medical Center (BMC). You will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive and compassionate care to our patients.

The minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent, current National Certification as CMA, and certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
The preferred qualifications include graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Program and one (1) year of healthcare experience.
The core duties and responsibilities include greeting and escorting patients, preparing exam rooms, obtaining vital signs, assisting with examinations and procedures, scheduling appointments, educating patients, maintaining quality control logs, and ensuring medical equipment is in proper working condition.
The physical requirements include the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly. The ability to bend, stoop, reach, and be capable of normal rotation, standing, and walking for an 8-12 hour shift.
The working environment includes working closely with others, working protracted or irregular hours, working around biohazards and infectious diseases, working with hands in water, and may be required to travel between facilities.
The skills and abilities required include the ability to effectively communicate with staff and patients, adapt to changing environments, use and learn software applications, organize and prioritize work, and work in both an independent and team setting.
The scheduled weekly hours for this position is 40.
