  • Use vital signs instrumentation, k-pad, scales, oxygen tanks, drainage systems/suction, SCDs, CPM machine, and bladder scanner effectively.
  • Assist patients with daily hygiene, including dental care, mouth care, bathing, hair care, backrubs, nail care, and shaving.
  • Provide nail care for patients, excluding diabetic patients, per policy/procedure.
  • Turn and position bedfast patients every 2 hours and as needed.
  • Assist patients with bowel and/or bladder functions and participate in bladder maintenance and retraining programs.
  • Answer call bells promptly according to policy/procedure.
  • Assist with the care of dying patients and provide postmortem care per policy/procedure.
  • Provide perineal and indwelling catheter care as needed.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADL) using adaptive equipment as instructed by therapists or nurses.
  • Serve food trays and assist with feeding as indicated, recording food and fluid intake.
  • Assist patients with identifying food arrangements, especially those with sight problems.
