A Day in the Life
As a Dietitian in our Bariatric Clinic, your day-to-day responsibilities may include:
- Completing physician-ordered consults and instructions according to established standards of care.
- Documenting patient information accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Contacting physicians regarding any concerns or recommendations related to patient care.
- Documenting NPO/Clear Liquid notes and following up until nutrition is provided, unless contraindicated.
- Completing and documenting calorie counts accurately.
- Calculating and reporting results of nitrogen balance and metabolic cart studies.
- Conducting nutrition assessments on high-risk patients.
- Evaluating the appropriateness of diet to diagnosis and the adequacy of current tube feeding, infant formula, or parenteral nutrition orders.
