The minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
Preferred qualifications include certification as a West Virginia Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic or applicable state licensure, certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and two years of college in an applicable course of study or two years’ experience in an Emergency Department or pre-hospital setting.
Core duties include observing and reporting patient conditions, assisting with patient care activities, recording vital signs, assisting with specimen collection, maintaining a clean environment, and assisting with administrative tasks.
The physical demands include standing, walking, lifting, bending, and stooping. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
The work environment is fast-paced and can be stressful at times. It requires the ability to work effectively as part of a team and to prioritize tasks effectively.
