A Day in the Life

On a typical day, you will:

• Assess patients presenting to the Emergency Department, obtaining medical histories and performing physical examinations.

• Develop and implement treatment plans based on patient assessments and diagnostic findings.
• Perform medical procedures, including intubations, central line placements, and laceration repairs.
• Administer medications and monitor patient response.
• Manage trauma cases and provide resuscitation as needed.
• Collaborate with nurses, technicians, and other specialists to coordinate patient care.
• Communicate with patients and their families regarding treatment plans and prognoses.
• Document patient care accurately and completely in the electronic health record.
