- Provides input to the Equipment Management program based on assigned equipment and departments.
- Evaluates and makes recommendations on new equipment/technologies being considered for purchase.
- Evaluates inspection criteria on general patient care equipment for frequency and content.
- Recommends equipment for planned replacement to assist hospital departments in formulating short and long-range capital expenditures.
- Monitors equipment utilization in areas of responsibility and makes recommendations for reallocation.
- Gains increased skills and knowledge through on-the-job training and formalized training.
- Attends conferences, schools, and reads literature to maintain high-quality services.
- Performs scheduled inspections in departments not specifically assigned, equal to at least 10% of the assigned workload.
- Continues to gain knowledge in the application of electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic theory.
