Responsibilities

  • Rotate in all Diagnostic areas for development of technical skills (Fluoro, Mobiles, Routine, Operating Room, Endoscopy, Orthopedics).
  • Perform imaging procedures based on assessment of patient status, service request, and imaging protocols.
  • Produce images of optimal quality using imaging equipment and systems for image delivery and archiving.
  • Select exposure factors based on patient's size, condition, and pathology to optimize image quality and minimize radiation exposure.
  • Minimize radiation exposure to self, patients, and staff by using shielding, collimation, and the inverse square law.
  • Maintain expertise in anatomy, physiology, and pathology relative to imaging to optimize procedures and ensure patient care/safety.
  • Assess patient's needs and provide imaging related to comfort, hygiene, and range of motion, providing support accordingly.
  • Prepare contrast agents, specific pharmaceuticals, and sterile trays utilized for imaging procedures according to guidelines and protocols.
  • Educate patients regarding radiographic procedures by explaining the procedure and answering questions.
  • Promote a team approach to providing Radiology services.
  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping related to patient procedures and imaging results.
  • Maintain and calibrate imaging equipment, reporting any malfunctions promptly.
